AION 2 downloads for the global version come from exactly two official places: the Steam store page (app 3393110) and NC's own PURPLE launcher. Both carry the same PC client, the same release dates (Advanced Access September 30, global launch October 5, 2026), and the same free-to-play model. Anything else — third-party mirrors, "free APK" sites, torrent repacks — is not the global client and is a security risk on top of that.

Download on PURPLE
PURPLE is NC's own PC launcher and the second official channel named in NC's announcement. Download the PURPLE client from NC's official site, create or sign in with your NC account (the same account system as website pre-registration), and install AION 2 from its library. PURPLE players who joined the Launch Scale Test do not need to reinstall — the official test post says "PURPLE players have no further steps needed."

The test client on Steam was distributed as a separate Playtest App. Per the official post: "Steam players must uninstall the Playtest App and download AION 2 separately for Advanced Access on September 30th." Skipping this is the single most common way to hit a launch-week install error — remove the test build first.

The Launch Scale Test pre-download ran September 16–17 without a posted size, and spec-class details typically land with the official requirements table. Do not download the wrong version
AION 2 exists as three separate services: Global (October 5), Korea (live) and Taiwan (live). Their clients are not interchangeable, and account regions do not mix — our version comparison page breaks down who each service is for. FAQ
Is AION 2 free to download? Yes — the global version is free to play; the download itself costs nothing on both Steam and PURPLE. The only paid item at launch window is the optional Founder's Pack.
Can I download AION 2 on mobile? No. The official FAQ states the global version is developed exclusively for PC platforms. Sites offering an "AION 2 APK" are not official and not safe — details on the mobile page.
Why won't my Launch Scale Test client update into the real game? Because it will not — on Steam the test app must be uninstalled and the full AION 2 downloaded separately, per the official test instructions.
